Gary Lamb, Real Estate Consultant |
Experience
· A third generation Houstonian, my family and I moved to Katy in 1978. When you hear me say, “I know
the area”, you can count on it; this is where I live, work and play! I drove a concrete mixer in the Katy area
during summer vacations to pay for my college expenses, and this was my introduction to the real estate
and construction business.
· Following my graduation from college, I became actively involved in marketing and sales of natural stone
to firms active in the residential and commercial construction markets. I then followed both my grand-
mother and my sister into the real estate profession, where I’ve truly enjoyed the privilege of consulting
with buyers and sellers to satisfy their requirements for the affordable acquisition and/or profitable sale
of residential properties.
· Awards earned for year ending December 31, 2008 included (out of 185 active agents in the Katy
Cinco Ranch Office):
· 15th in Listings Taken, Volume & Units
· 10th in Closed Units
· 14th in Closed GCI & Units
· Keller Williams Realty International Bronze Award(s) for Listings, GCI & Units in 2007 and 2008 (79,643 agents)
· Statistically speaking, my career listings have sold for an average of 98% of the list price and
the average days on market for those same homes was 51, from listing to contract.
Education
· I received my BBA from Southwest Texas State University (now Texas State University) in May of 1980
with concentrations in Marketing and Accounting. There I first nurtured my interest in real estate and
studied essential courses in real estate principles and contracts as well as real estate appraisal methods.
· I am currently enrolled in coursework to attain the ABR (Accredited Buyers Representative) designation
so that I might better serve my clients.
Community Activities & Service
I am actively involved in the Katy/West Houston community and work with several service organizations.
· A nine-year survivor of Stage IV Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, I served as the Event Chair for The American
Cancer Society’s Relay for Life of Katy/West Houston in 2006 and 2007, increasing giving totals
by 161% and ranking our Relay sixth in our division of six states. I was selected by the Society to serve as
a “Hero of Hope”, or goodwill ambassador and speaker, to further the mission and fund-raising events of
the Society, and serve on the Gulf Coast Regional Advisory Council for the Society in 2008.
· I am a trained volunteer for CanCare of Houston, providing one-on-one, long-term emotional support
to numerous cancer patients and their families, and serve on that organization’s Board of Representatives.
· I sit on the Board of Directors of Cinco Charities, whose mission it is to provide tempory
housing in our community for individuals and their families who are hospitalized or receiving treatment for
a serious medical condition in one of our area hospitals.
· A Scouter for the last 11 years, I currently serve our church’s Cub & Boy Scout programs as the Chartered
Organization Representative and recently became the proud father of an Eagle Scout.
In my spare time, I enjoy stealing moments with my family – Donna, my wife and best friend of 27 years; my
daughter Erin, a senior at St. Edward’s University in Austin; and my son Connor, a senior at one of our
acclaimed area schools – and attending movies, concerts, sporting and theatre events with family and friends …
or simply relaxing (on those rare occasions) with a newspaper, magazine or a good book.
